• Dating: This complete six-piece service dates perfectly to the mid-1970s (c. 1974). The undersides of both the cups and saucers feature the iconic raised, molded block lettering backstamp reading "DURALEX FRANCE" alongside individual glass manufacturing mold numbers.

• Historical Note: Invented by Saint-Gobain in 1945, Duralex pioneered the proprietary glass tempering process that made their tableware virtually indestructible. While clear glass was their industrial standard, it was the introduction of the rich, warm amber and smoked glass lines in the 1970s that cemented Duralex as a global design icon. This specific Versailles range is celebrated for its structural, multi-tiered form—moving away from standard round kitchenware into a sharp, architectural statement. Finding a complete, uniformly matched service for six with matching production runs is an excellent opportunity for retro kitchenware collectors or prop stylists.

A beautifully structured, warm, and highly nostalgic addition to your morning routine or vintage display cabinet, this authentic 1970s Duralex amber glass set contains six tea/coffee cups and six matching saucers. Part of the iconic Versailles range, this set features a gorgeous honey-amber hue that glows beautifully when caught by the light, accented by a bold, stepped architectural profile that allows the cups to stack beautifully and safely for storage.

• Structure: Excellent structural integrity. Absolutely no chips, cracks, structural fractures, or deep flea bites to any of the 6 cups or 6 saucers. The structural rims are smooth and all handles are solidly intact.

• Glaze & Clarity: The amber glass remains remarkably bright with a high gloss finish. Consistent with authentic vintage tableware of this social history, there are minor signs of surface wear typical of age and use, including some light, faint surface utensil marks/hairline cleaning scratches visible on the saucers when tilted under direct inspection light. This does not impact structural strength or presentation value.

• Base Marks: The molded "DURALEX FRANCE" marks on the bases are clean, sharp, and perfectly readable.
